Second Annual Texas Ranch Hand Big Buck Contest
Rules & Regulations:
1. All eligible hunters must register at least 24 hrs. prior to an entry being
scored. Pre-registration begins September
15, 2007. Hunters need to register for the contest at one of three Texas Ranch
Hand Truck Accessories Store
locations. San Antonio – 12257 West Ave. • Boerne – 32954 IH 10 West • Houston -
10717 FM 1960 West.
2. Deer must be a whitetail buck killed in the State of Texas during the general
hunting season.
3. All entries must be legally harvested and properly tagged according to the
most recent Texas Hunting Law. Hunter
must present a valid Texas hunting license to the official measurer.
4. Measurements must be made within 7 days of kill.
5. For measurement, the registered hunter must bring in the field dressed deer
or the deer’s head with antlers attached
and enough cape for a shoulder mount with proof of kill for scoring to one of
our Ranch Hand store locations in San
Antonio, Boerne and Houston. No animal will be scored during off hours. Scoring
hours are Mon. – Fri. 8:30 am –
5:30 pm and Saturday 9 am – 1 pm.
6. Deer entry scores are based on the newest gross Boone & Crocket scoring
method. All scores are final and must
be signed by participant, if there is a conflict the contestant has with the
scores they are given, they will be
disqualified from the contest immediately. (NO EXCEPTIONS) In case of a tie, the
longest single point off the main
beam will determine the winner. In case of tie after the tiebreaker has been
considered, the winner will be
determined by a drawing between the hunters with the same score.
7. The Ranch Hand Big Buck Contest is divided into three regions. See the
attached county list.
8. The overall “Best All-Around” whitetail buck will be awarded to the
highest-ranking whitetail buck for the entire
contest. 1st place buck will be awarded to the highest grossing whitetail buck
in each region (excluding the “Best All-
Around”).
9. Any registered hunter trying to cheat in the Ranch Hand Big Buck Contest will
be automatically disqualified, forfeit
their prize and will be barred form entering the Ranch Hand Big Buck contest for
a period of time to be determined
by the contest committee.
10. Any registered hunter found guilty of violating any Texas Game Law
automatically forfeits his or her chances of
winning any prize. The guilty party will be barred from entering the Ranch Hand
Big Buck contest for a period of
time to be determined by the contest committee.
11. A contestant can turn in every legal kill he or she kills during season but
can only win one prize overall. The prize
will be given for the highest placing buck entered by contestant.
12. The winning buck will be mounted and will be on display at the Ranch Hand
booth during the hunting shows it
participates in for the next year. The mount will not be property of Ranch Hand
but will be used to at hunting shows
to promote the big buck contest for future years. It will remain in
participant’s possession except for the time it is at
these hunting shows.
13. Photos will be posted at the Ranch Hand location of all entries for the
remainder of the year until the next contest.
Scores of the animals will not be posted until the contest is over on February
10, 2008. Winners will be posted on
the Ranch Hand web site.
14. Ranch Hand employees and their immediate families along with their sponsors
will not be eligible to participate in
this contest.
15. Any tax obligation incurred as a result of any prize awarded herein will be
the responsibility of the recipient of the
prize.
16. By entering the contest, you have agreed to comply with all the rules of the
contest and all decisions of the Ranch
Hand Big Buck Contest Committee. All decisions of the Ranch Hand Big Buck
Contest Committee will be final.
